How to Send a Saved GIF on WhatsApp for Android and iPhone
Save media with InstantGif, then choose WhatsApp’s built-in GIF picker or attach a compatible file from your phone.
InstantGif downloads media from a public Instagram post or Reel URL. On the results screen, choose Download Media to save the available file to your device. The downloader does not import files into WhatsApp or convert them into stickers.
Android: send a saved file
Open the WhatsApp chat, tap the attachment icon, choose Gallery, and select the saved item. Check the preview before sending. If WhatsApp shows it as a still image or cannot select it, use the GIF picker described below; the file’s format and the phone’s media picker affect how it is presented.
iPhone: send a saved file
Open the chat, tap the plus button, choose Photos, then select the saved item and review WhatsApp’s preview before sending. If the animation is not preserved or the item is not available in Photos, use WhatsApp’s GIF picker instead. WhatsApp also supports choosing a file through Document when you need to send the original file itself.
Use WhatsApp’s GIF picker on either phone
In the chat, open the sticker/GIF control, choose GIF, search for a phrase, preview a result, and tap send. This sends a GIF from WhatsApp’s built-in search rather than the local file you downloaded.
WhatsApp’s menu labels can vary by app version. See the WhatsApp Help Center: sending GIFs and sending media or documents for the current device-specific controls.
